Youth Of The Month:
Capital One Golf Tournament 2008
On a typical day, a banker would go to the office, make loans, count money and financially advise customers. However, the Capital One employee has a different schedule. They don’t just do the typical banking duties. Every employee is paid at least 2 hours per week to volunteer in their community. The multi-million-dollar business also helps raise funds to support the community.
In June, Capital One Bank hosted a golf tournament at El Dorado Country Club in McKinney, Texas. The event raised a net amount of $155,000 to be given to Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County. The money will be used towards operating expenses of club locations in Frisco, McKinney and Plano.
For the 4th year in a row, Capital One Bank has generously sponsored and planned the golf tournament benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County. The first annual tournament held in 2005 raised $79,000. What a great fundraiser for the clubs! We are truly appreciative to Capital One Bank for putting this event together for our Collin County kids. $500 supports 1 child for 1 year. You can only imagine how much $155,000 can do! We can’t wait to see what happens next year.
Capital One Bank also supports the nonprofit organization through financial programs developed for youth to learn how to manage finances as well as various projects within the branches.
