2009 One Campaign

“It Just Takes One” to make a difference in the lives of our Collin County children. Looking at 2008, we were able to add enough space to double our kids in Frisco thanks to those who contributed to our campaign.

Our campaign, It Just Takes One, has allowed us to do many exciting things for the kids and this year is no different. Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County continues to strive towards meeting the needs of more and more children across the county. In 2009, we are looking forward to beginning many new projects thanks to community leaders who have donated property to our clubs.

  1. The Don Day Family donated land directly west of the McKinney branch where we have hopes of building a skate park. Club members would be able to come to the skate park and “enjoy the ride” while they mold productive friendships and mentors as well as continue on a path to a healthy body.
  2. Mayor Dorman of Melissa promised land to be donated in Melissa. We are looking forward to the possibility of opening doors to a new branch in the future. This will allow the Clubs to reach children who have always been too far from the Clubs to participate in our wonderful programs!
  3. Bill Donihoo graciously donated an amazing piece of property in Plano where Club kids will someday enjoy camping, fishing and the great outdoors. Our goal is to open up a camp for the kids and possibly build an additional branch.

All of these donations are amazing and we want to be successful with all of these endeavors, but we need people like you to help make it happen.  Each contributor will truly make a difference in the lives of our Collin County kids.
