CapitalOne Charity Golf Classic
Golf tourney drives in $150,000 for BGCCC Programming and Services

McKinney, Texas, July 12, 2007 - Just over 150 golfers weathered the storms and heavy rains to participate in the fourth annual Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County (BGCCC) Charity Golf Classic Monday, June 25, at the Eldorado Country Club in McKinney. This year's Charity Golf Classic, sponsored by Capital One, raised $150,000 for BGCCC programs and services to further help the non-profit organization continue to provide a positive and safe environment for the 3,800 children it serves annually.

Mike Gathright, senior director of Capital One Auto Finance and BGCCC board of directors member served as tournament chair.

"Despite the bad weather, everyone had a fantastic time at the tournament. We really enjoyed the day and the opportunity to give our support to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County. Events such as the Charity Golf Classic provide great opportunities for businesses to support charities."

In opening remarks to the players, Gathright and BGCCC Director of Development Cathy Barker spoke of the annual programming costs associated with serving each child at the BGCCC.

"It takes roughly $500 per child per year to provide the programs they need to thrive in both their school and home-lives." Barker said. "So, with the $150,000 contribution from the Charity Golf Classic, funding is now available for 75% of the children enrolled at one of our branches."

"The first year, back in 2004, the tournament raised $25,000, then $75,000 in 2005, and $120,000 in 2006," Gathright said. "We are ecstatic that the success of the tournament continues to grow each year, actually making it the second largest fundraising event of the year for the BGCCC only under the Chrysalis Ball in fall. We are hoping to continue this success in the years to come."

In addition to the Capital One title sponsorship, the tournament was also sponsored by Adesa Dallas and Manheim Auction Corporation - Platinum sponsors; ACS - gold sponsor; Experian, Financial Asset Management, Wipro, EMC2, ASR Nationwide, Renaissance Recovery, Verizon, Ascension Capital Group, SynCom Corp, DVS - silver sponsors; National Bankruptcy Services, Brasher's Auto Auction, Fair Issac, Resource Title Services, van Wagenen, DealerTrack, Equifax/CSC, URS, AIC Corp, Northstar, Auction Broadcasting Company, Millinium Capital & Recovery Corp, Long Beach Auto Auction, GC Services, Ocwen Financial - bronze sponsors.

Contributions were also made by Sentry Credit, Inc., Louisiana 1st Choice Auto Auction, Action Recovery Service, Hill & Associates, Inc., Premier Auction Group, Windsor, NCO Group, Office Depot, and PGA Tour Superstore.

The BGCCC is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization serving more than 3,800 disadvantaged youth at five branch locations in Frisco, Plano, and McKinney. The organization is privately funded and depends on donations to accomplish its mission of enabling all youth, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
