About 25 BGCCC students in the 4th and 5th grade got to participate in a special summer math program put on by the Communities in Schools organization and Capital One. The program started six years ago with 6 students and now a total of 125 take part in this math program that helps children pass their math test requirements. Students, Capital One Volunteers and staff from Communities in Schools filled six rooms at the Capital One headquarters in Plano. The program is over a three week period and the class attendee’s progress is followed into the next school year. Mayor Harry LaRosiliere of Plano spoke to all the children.
