Communities Foundation of Texas helps fund Boys & Girls Clubs Frisco Branch expansionMcKinney, Texas, January 31, 2008 - Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) recently awarded a grant for $20,000 through the John A. & Katie Jackson Fund to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County (BGCCC) to relocate and expand the BGCCC Frisco Branch and to increase the number of at-risk and disadvantaged youths served. Funds from the grant will be used to perform general renovations and establish a commercial kitchen in the vacated Frisco Municipal Complex. The non-profit organization anticipates having room to serve an average of 275 children per day, including a hot meal to each child. "In awarding this grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County, Communities Foundation of Texas welcomes the opportunity to help serve the needs of Frisco," Brent Christopher, Communities Foundation of Texas president and CEO, said. "This community is growing so rapidly, and we all must join together to support our youth. Using the John & Katie Jackson Fund, CFT is proud to make this investment in the lives of 275 boys and girls each day through important after-school and summer programs." "This will help enable the BGCCC to serve more of the children of Frisco who really need us most."
