DESCRIPTION:  \nTown of Fairview Hosts Family Fun 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament September 12-13\nAre you ready to be part of the biggest community event ever brought to Fairview\, Texas? Here’s your chance! The Town of Fairview is sponsoring a family fun 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday\, September 12 and Sunday\, September 13. It will be held in the Village at Fairview shopping center located at US 75 and Stacy Road. \nThe tournament is designed so that anyone seven years and older can play: Short or tall\, young or old\, experienced or novice. This tournament maintains the purity and integrity of the old-fashioned driveway basketball game. \nThree on three basketball pairs teams of 4 players\, (3 players on the court at a time)\, against other teams that are matched by age\, gender and skill level so that the games will be fun and competitive. This is a double elimination tournament with a guarantee of three scheduled games. Teams that lose their first two games will battle it out for the coveted title of “Toilet Bowl” champion. There will also be a slam dunk contest with a $500 prize. Slam dunk contestants must be registered for the tournament in order to participate. \nThe Town is partnering with the Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament program to run the tournament. The Gus Macker 3 on 3 program began in 1974 as a backyard neighborhood tournament. It continues today as one of the finest family oriented outdoor backyard playground style national basketball tournaments for male and female players of all ages\, sizes and skill levels. You don’t have to be an NBA star\, a rec league legend or a middle school star to be a part of the Macker experience. \nPlayers\, families and friends can enjoy the more than a million square feet of shopping\, dining and entertainment available in the area when not playing. \nRegister your 4 member team of men\, women or youth (from age 7). Make it fun for groups and form your basketball teams from your neighborhood\, group of friends\, recreational sports team\, workplace or church. To register your team\, visit www.macker.com. The registration fee is $35 per player ($140 per team). If your team is registered before July 1\, 2015 a team discounted rate of $25 per player ($100 per team) is being offered. \nThe mail-in registration deadline for the tournament is August 7\, 2015.
