Youth of the Year
As part of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America National Youth of the Year program, the BGCCC honors one youth each year as Youth of the Year in recognition of outstanding Club and community service, academic performance and contributions to family and spiritual life. The BGCCC Youth of the Year receives a certificate and medallion and enters into the state competitions. State winners receive a plaque and $1,000 scholarship before being entered into regional competition. Five regional winners then receive and additional $10,000 scholarship. Of these five winners, a national Youth of the Year is chosen. This special winner earns an additional $15,000 scholarship totaling $26,000 in scholarships, and is installed by the President of the United States.
